1. ASAFI or BARA IMAMBARA
This magnificent monument is named after it’s builder Nawab Asaf-ud-Daulah. Built in the year 1784 as an act of religious piety and as a famine relief measure, it stands out for its austerity in style, proportion and symmetry along with daring techniques in architecture. The monument has a harmonious blend of Mughal and Rajput features with the longest vaulted hall without support of beams or pillars.
The Bara Imambara complex comprises of the:
NAUBAT KHANA (NAKKAR KHANA)
ASAFI MASJID (MOSQUE)
SHAHI BAOLI (STEPPED WELL)
BHUL BHULAYYA (LABRYNTH)
2. HUSSAINABAD or CHOTTA IMAMBARA
This monument was built by Nawab Mohammed Ali Shah in 1839. It is more ornate in design with exquisite chandeliers, guilt-edged mirrors, silver pulpit and beautiful Tazias. A gilded dome and fine calligraphy on the exterior of the building makes it a truly exceptional monument of Mughal styled architecture.
3. HUSSAINABAD CLOCK TOWER
The tallest clock tower in India standing to s height of 221 ft, it is one of the finest example of British architecture.
